About Our Clinics

Shede Olukhale is the Head Coach of Kickstart Soccer he was a member of the Kenya National Football team and played in the Kenya National League for over 10 years. He was the captain of his team & top goal scorer, travelling to many parts of the world to represent his country including Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He is also is a fully qualified Youth Coach accredited with the Football Federation of Victoria, holds current Level 2 First Aid and CPR.

Having extensive experience from grass roots through to the highest level of International competition, we believe that the best environment is one where skills, self esteem and physical fitness are nurtured and progressed in an environment free of comparison and pressure. Our coaches are dedicated to this approach and we strive to ensure that our participants have the most positive early experience to help facilitate a long term participation in sport. Our clinics are non competitive and each child has their own ball for most of the duration of the clinic.

We train our coaches to ensure that Shede’s experience is passed on and that, importantly the encouraging approach we use is fostered and employed by all of our staff. We are an equal opportunity employer and we believe in giving young people a start in the work force.  All of our coaches hold current working with children checks.

Our clinics are held outdoors, where children can be out in the elements, fresh air, sunshine, rain (sometimes!) – All the things that make us feel alive! Shede is also the father of 2 energetic boys and understands first hand the benefits that an active lifestyle brings to families.

Age Groups

As children have differing abilities and different ages and different body compositions, we feel it best to group in both age and ability, depending on the individual child. We will recommend the most appropriate class for your child, depending on these factors. As a guide our clinics are divided into

Beginners – 5 -7 years
Intermediate – 8 -10 Years
Blue Group – 8 – 12 years (depending on ability)

Costs

$25 casual Sessions (45 mins)
$180 Term Bookings (45 mins

$80 – Individual Tuition

Please see Program Guide for detailed information on our programs

Structure of Sessions

Our sessions comprise of skills training where children are taught ball control, shooting, dribbling, passing, communication, fitness and agility and the best part – a mini match at the end of each session where kids get to apply their skills in a team environment. Our sessions run for 45 minutes which we have found to be the optimum time to keep kids interest levels peaked and energy levels high.

Equipment

We provide all equipment necessary and ensure that our equipment is of the highest quality. We advise you bring water for your child and while soccer boots are not required, they are advisable – particularly in the winter months when the ground is damp. Please ensure your child wears adequate sports footwear, layered loose comfortable clothing and bring along a water bottle. We do recommend shin pads and we have them for sale at the sessions for $15 a pair. We also have Kickstart soccer T shirts for sale @ $25. – These items are optional.

Motivation

We aim to provide the best environment for positive  encouragement. We believe this is the best way to bring out the best in children and help foster positive self esteem and co operative team work.

Parental Involvement

Parents are required to be present during your child’s session. The benefits of being present are great. You can see your child’s progression and children adore an audience of loved ones to cheer them on.

Missed Sessions / Bad Weather

We will only cancel if the weather is extreme e.g pouring rain and temperatures over 35 degrees. We will conduct sessions with light drizzle or intermittent showers, kids mostly love it. Just remember to bring a warm change of clothes and shoes and socks.

Unfortunately we are unable to refund missed sessions on term bookings. However you are welcome to book in a make up session within the term.
